I just wanted to write a few words on the 2008 Presidential Election that just concluded...
I was/am a proud McCain/Palin supporter. My heart is heavy as I am not looking forward to 4 years with someone as liberal and (in my opinion) questionable as Barack Obama as our president.
As I debabted over the last few weeks on who I should vote for - it became clear to me...I can not/will not ever vote for a candidate that supports abortion. Whatever the economy may be - whatever the national debt may be...A child's life is only in one set of hands - God's...and His alone. If He wants the child to survive to term - it will. If He decides that His will be done by the death of the child (((notice I am saying "child" - NOT "fetus"))) - it will!!! It should be up to no one but Him!
I know several people that believe in the right to choose simply because "God will judge them when the time comes" or "I don't want to force my views on other people". That does not make it right!!! That's like saying that it's okay to murder someone now because God will take care of it later!?! That's what it is...murder. And what about "forcing your views on others"?? Isn't that what they are doing by voting pro-choice??
Yes - the economy might be better in the next 4 years...yes, Obama might be more well spoken than President Bush - I don't care about that. I care about the millions of children that are aborted every year - just because the mothers want the right to choose - just because many women want to have pre-marital and extra-marital sex without any consequences. It's just wrong.
When are we going to fight for those that have no voice?? When are we going to stand up for those who can't speak for themselves?? If I don't fight for them - who will?
I am not ashamed to say these things and feel this way. This is what I would tell anyone who asks me what my position is - or how I voted.
I am glad the election is over. I don't know if I could take any more of the slick talk and mud-slinging. I am worried about the future of our nation. I can only leave it up to my Lord, Jesus Christ, and trust that His will WILL be done. I trust HIM! And in that, I can rest easy.
Daniel 2: 20-21
20) Daniel said, "Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. 21) "It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding.

Shaded Gray Daybook ~ October 9, 2008
Outside my Window … It's still dark right now - but I think it's supposed to be a beautiful day.
I am thinking … That I will be glad when this election is over and the mud-slinging will stop. I am over it!! It all boils down to, in my opinion, who is - or is not - against abortion...that will make my decision for me.
I am thankful for … My family - they are the best...and for my beautiful 4-year old!! - he's getting so big.
From the kitchen … I believe chicken is on the menu for tonight. I think Terrance is grilling and we're making salad out of it.
I am going … To take a shower and get ready for work as soon as I finish this.
I am wearing … Jammie pants and a tank top - my favorite outfit.
I am reading... The newest Stephenie Meyer vampire book. It's due back at the library and I can't finish it fast enough...it's pretty good.
I am hoping... For an uneventful day...sometimes I don't think I need any outside excitement. LOL
I am hearing … The fish tank gurgling - other than that - nothing...I am the only one awake.
One of my favorite things … Fridays!! Only one more day!!! It's been a long week. :)
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week … Nothing major - just surviving. :) We are going out of town in a few weeks to visit friends...that should be fun!!
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you… These are my new...fabulous...red shoes. Now - to the untrained eye - these might just seem like regular shoes...but if one has ever attempted to find the "perfect" red shoe - it is WAY more difficult than it sounds. :)
